Orkhon waterfall

The Orkhon river waterfall is called “UlaanTsutgalan” (Red Flow) among locals because of its water appearing to be reddish in color because of high soil erosion up the stream. It is even more visible after heavy rainfall in the area. The waterfall is located in Bat-Ulziisoum of Ovorkhangai province, which is not very far from major tourist attractions of the province.

The waterfall is ten meters wide & twenty meters high in rainy summers, but not as much in dry summers. There are tourist services in high seasons that provide life vests and inflatable boats to allow visitors to get near to the bottom of the waterfall. Visitors come for the fascinating natural scenery, also to relieve their stress by nature sound meditation.
