“UranTogoo” extinct volcano
UranTogoo is named according to its shape resembling a round pot. Together with TulgaUul (traditional tripod pot support mountain) and JalavchUul (small pot mountain), these extinct volcanoes form “TulgaUul Natural Monument” special protected area covering 5,800 hectares of Khutag-Ondorsoum of Bulgan province.
The UranTogoo features an extinct volcano crate that is perfectly round shaped, with 20m diameter round lake in the middle of it. The mountain sides are full of volcanic rocks of various shapes and sizes, and it takes a healthy climb up to the crate mouth from the parking spot.
Visit there to admire the craft of nature formed so fine and stroll through the field of volcanic rocks to feel the time elapse.
