The Choijin Lam monastery museum

Just south to the ChinggisKhaan square, one of the best preserved monasteries of the country lies with its gate facing south. It is more of a museum than an active monastery. Complex of temples builtbetween 1904 and 1908 are dedicated for Choijin Lam who was the state Oracle and younger brother of the eighth BogdGegeenJebtsundamba.

The museum exhibits many religious artifacts within its five temple halls, including the detailed painting of tortures in Hell awaiting the sinners in next life, which is not commonly presented in temples.
